Unless it’s Easter time, the church can view passion as very negative. But, how are we to live with purpose, commit to church work, or worship without it? The problem is we are making no distinction between passions of the flesh, and passions of the spirit. (Galatians 5) When we treat all passions as bad, we risk suppressing the spirit in our lives.
Do not quench the Spirit. -1st Thessalonians 5:19
“Without passion man is a mere latent force and possibility, like the flint which awaits the shock of the iron before it can give forth its spark.” — Henri-Frédéric Amiel
“Not all passions are expressed in obvious ways, like words, or emotional outbursts.”
“Emotions are like fine works of art, they can always be faked.”
